Crystal Palace dinosaurs supported by top hat from Guns N’ Roses Slash

The Crystal Palace dinosaurs are fundraising for a new bridge, and one of the items donated to them is a top hat, from Slash, the lead guitarist of the American hard rock band Guns N’ Roses.

Slash was born in London, and often visited the famously badly designed concrete dinosaurs in Crystal Palace as a child. When heard about the fundraising, he decided to donate a signed hat to the auction.

The Friends of Crystal Palace Dinosaurs are selling a number of donated items to raise money for a bridge that will, for the first time, connect the dinosaur island to the rest of the park and let people get up close to the leviathans.

The bridge will also be secure, preventing people from getting onto the island unauthorised.

Items being auctioned off, apart from the top hat, include a chance to have your name engraved onto the bridge, a private tour of St Paul’s Cathedral, to a bone from a Bison that once roamed the North Sea.

The full list of items being auctioned is here.

If the crowdfunding efforts for the bridge are unsuccessful, then the money raised by this auction will be refunded to the buyers.
