POZYX was demonstrating its ultra-wideband (UWB) positioning system, which is accurate within 10 cm (see “Play Ball with IoT Indoor Positioning Sensors”) Comparably, Wi-Fi and other wireless technologies are on the order of 1 to 5 m, and GPS runs between 6 and 10 m. The system can also be used indoors. The Roomba demo had four sensors in close proximity, but they’re normally spaced much wider. The Arduino shield also incorporates a 9-axis motion sensor.
